back at the cabin
i know these pictures are in reverse...but we stayed at mt bromo this summer...a volcano here in east java. it was sooo cold there. we had some great reactions from ian and the chill he could feel in the air...poor guy had never known "cold" :D here the kids played soccer with some local boys and hazel did her cartwheels and ian cleaned. he loves to clean...uses a broom, mop, dusting rag, the works! good times in the freezing cold for us!
going down :D
when they make stairs here they like to put a sort of slide in the middle so it's easier for the sellers to carry all their stuff to the top and back down to the bottom. our kids thought it was the best giant slide they had seen! ian had to ikut! and then just at the bottom, the boys tore their pants in the seat...ha! what a ride!
at the top
it smelled like rotten eggs...you climb all that way and it has to smell so bad! but it was amazing to see...that is for sure! the volcano had blown 5 years earlier. that is why you see so much ash and gray everywhere...
hiking up mt. bromo
we rented horses for the kids cuz you can see in the middle photo that the volcano was a bit of hike...but we did it...THEN we got to the stairs...by that time i thought my legs were going to fall off and they became numb and i climbed. at least that way i didn't feel it :D
